Rosine Umurerwa is a dedicated nutritionist. She holds a Bachelor of Human Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Rwanda and is passionate about improving maternal and child health. Her focus is on empowering communities to find sustainable solutions to malnutrition and food security.
Rosine has extensive experience working with organizations like World Vision and health centers across Rwanda. In 2023, she took on a leadership role, spearheading the Positive Deviance/Hearth (PD/Hearth) program in the Kivu cluster. Her responsibilities included training local volunteers and Community Health Workers (CHWs) in nutrition and hygiene practices. Her efforts contributed to rehabilitating malnourished children and promoting positive nutritional behavior among impoverished families.
Previously, Rosine interned at Kibagabaga Teaching Hospital, conducting nutritional assessments and developing care plans for children under five. She also managed cases of acute malnutrition using the Community-Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) protocol. Her journey began at Kagugu Health Center, where she taught maternal nutrition to pregnant and lactating women.
Rosine holds certifications in maternal nutrition, micronutrient supplementation, adolescent nutrition, basic Life support, and First Aid from the Red Cross. She has also received training from AMI on thriving in the workplace, equipping her with skills in leadership, collaboration, and resilience.
She is committed to improving community health outcomes with expertise in nutritional assessment, growth monitoring, and capacity building.
