Gedeon Chernet holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Arbaminch University. He is deeply committed to community service, particularly in his hometown of Shone. In the summer of 2020, Gedeon participated in a voluntary service organized by the South Nation’s Nationalities and People’s Region, Women, Child, and Youth’s Affairs Bureau. During this time, he successfully raised funds to provide educational materials for needy children and took part in repairing houses in rural areas. Additionally, Gedeon volunteered in a clothing collection project coordinated by Arbaminch University’s Social Science and Humanity College Social Service Coordination Office, further showcasing his dedication to helping those in need.
Gedeon has also completed UNICEF’s online training on “Delivering on the Social Protection Core Commitments for Children (CCC) in Humanitarian Action,” which enhanced his understanding of child rights and welfare, particularly in humanitarian settings. This training aligns with his passion for supporting vulnerable children and communities, driving his continued commitment to making a positive impact.
