Saumu Syomiti Kavuu is a CorpsAfrica Volunteer who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in communication and journalism from Maasai Mara University. As a journalist, she is enthusiastic about engaging diverse audiences in telling their stories and allowing their voices to be heard. In addition to her education, Saumu worked as a mentee with the International Association of Women in Radio and Television [IAWRT] and through this opportunity, she developed a keen interest in advocating for the rights of the girl child in the media industry.
Apart from her excellent communication skills, Saumu is also equipped with hands-on experience in content production, and digital marketing. She is also a great problem solver, leader, team player and loves serving the community.
Growing up, Saumu has always been passionate about giving back to the community and this spirit has enabled her to be involved in activities involving the same. She also trusts in empowering the community for them to be independent.
Furthermore, she is a dedicated youth with a charming personality and loves bringing a positive impact among people in her community through empowerment as she believes in the phrase that charity begins at home. As a Volunteer, she also believes her work with the community will be of great impact to both her and the community she serves.
