Joyce Wanjiru Mbuthia was born and raised in a rural village in the central part of Kenya, Murang’a County. She is currently a Volunteer in CorpsAfrica/Kenya, where she facilitates community-led development in rural villages. Her enthusiasm for community development is profound and yearns to be part of change whenever it is mentioned or seen. She studied Bachelor’s degree in science in Animal Health and Production, at Maasai Mara University. She is a lover of animals and humanity, in that, she is passionate about health which brings a union between the health of animals, human beings, and the environment. She has worked with Farming Systems Kenya organization, where she gained skills such as public speaking through community engagement, sustainable farming, and economic development activities as well as hands-on skills concerning animal welfare and health, to improve food security. She is a vehicle of happiness and always ready to interact with people, to bring positive impacts in peoples’ lives. She has also gained first-aid skills through training with the Kenya Red Cross. Through this, she has increased her potential to save lives, especially during disaster occurrences. She is trained in report writing and is also skilled in establishing good relations with people from diverse fields. She believes in young Africans being the change the World needs.
