Robert Omondi Ouma is a passionate and results-driven Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer with a solid foundation in public health, specializing in social behavior change communication (SBCC), WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), and health advocacy. With a keen interest in community health and development, Robert has cultivated a broad set of skills and experiences working with both local and international organizations on projects that directly impact the well-being of vulnerable and marginalized communities. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health (2019-2023) and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Health (2024 – Date). Throughout his academic and professional journey, Robert has demonstrated a strong capacity for project design, implementation, and evaluation, underpinned by proficiency in data analysis and report writing. His expertise in using statistical tools such as SPSS and Stata further complements his technical ability to analyze public health data and generate actionable insights for policy and decision-making. Robert’s commitment to youth empowerment and advocacy is evident in his role as a Youth Champion for the Centre for Study of Adolescents (Youth 4 Health Project). From 2022 to 2023, he led community campaigns promoting menstrual hygiene, reproductive health, and HIV/AIDS awareness among underserved populations. He played a critical role in addressing gender-based violence (GBV) and advocating for sexual and reproductive health (SRH) rights, ensuring youth voices were heard in policy discussions at both community and county levels. Additionally, Robert’s dedication to improving community health systems is exemplified by his tenure as a Project Volunteer for Impact Research and Development Organization under the Global Fund Malaria Project. He facilitated training sessions on malaria prevention, distributed essential health commodities, and developed monitoring tools to assess the impact of interventions in malaria-prone areas. As a Community Volunteer with CorpsAfrica/Kenya, Robert continues to engage in One Health initiatives, addressing the intersection of human, animal, and environmental health in rural settings. His involvement in youth leadership and mentorship programs encourages the next generation of health advocates to take active roles in shaping health policies and driving positive change in their communities. In addition to his formal roles, Robert has received various qualifications, including a Certificate in Computer Packages, First Aid Training from St. John’s Ambulance, and certifications in Peer Counseling and Digital Marketing. His efforts have also earned him recognition as a Bronze Award Winner in the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition (2022) and a Global Youth Ambassador in the same year. With a deep commitment to ethical standards and cultural sensitivity, Robert excels in community engagement, fostering collaboration with diverse stakeholders and promoting health awareness through education and advocacy. His leadership, advocacy, and project management skills have made him a respected figure in public health and youth-driven health initiatives across Kenya.
