UM6P Strategic Summit
From July 11-13, 2024, CorpsAfrica and UM6P convened for a full-day strategic conference in Benguerir, Morocco, followed by two days of site visits to communities in the High Atlas Mountains to better understand the impact of CorpsAfrica Volunteers and understand collaboration opportunities.
The conference featured participatory sessions focused on the CorpsAfrica Volunteer experience with Human-Centered Design, climate resilience, disaster responses, and Pan-Africanism. The event brought together thought leaders, practitioners, partners, university staff, and Volunteers – all committed to creating sustainable change across the continent. Members of the group then traveled to communities in the High Atlas Mountains to learn more about how CorpsAfrica/Maroc Volunteers worked alongside community members and explored the challenges of this past year’s service in the wake of the devastating earthquake that struck the region in September 2023.
This event was a powerful reminder of the importance of collaboration, listening, and community-driven development. We are excited about the future opportunities that this partnership with UM6P and the Social Innovation Lab will bring, and we look forward to continuing our work together to empower communities across Africa.
Thank you!
We extend our deepest gratitude to UM6P and the Social Innovation Lab for their partnership and support in making this event a remarkable success. Their commitment to fostering innovation and empowering communities across Africa was evident throughout our time together. This collaboration has laid the foundation for impactful partnerships that will continue to drive sustainable development across the continent.
