Sociologist, political activist, and former journalist, among the pioneers of the Feminist movement in Senegal, and a founding member of the Yeewu-Yeewi movement, the first feminist organization in Senegal. In 1974, she created the African journal Family and Development, of which she was editor-in-chief until 1978. In 1977, she founded the Association of African Women for Research and Development (AFARD). In 1981, she was a member of the secretariat of And-Jëf/Revolutionary Movement for New Democracy.
