Sena Ebbisa was born and raised in the vibrant city of Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia. With a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Dilla University, she not only honed her design skills but also enriched her university community by organizing exhibitions that celebrated the talents and achievements of her peers. During her time at Dilla University, Sena took the initiative, collaborating with fellow students to raise funds for those in need around campus. She found joy in helping others, whether by organizing fundraising efforts or leading tutorial sessions for junior students to enhance their skills in various software applications. As the General Secretary of the Dilla University Architecture Students Association, Sena showcased her leadership abilities and her commitment to creating a supportive environment for her classmates. Her passion for building sustainable communities shines through her dedication to empowering women and children, a cause close to her heart. After graduating, Sena took a significant step by joining CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia as a Volunteer. This role allowed her to immerse herself in community development initiatives, where she could make a real difference. She later worked with the Development Expertise Center (DEC) in Jimma, a local NGO involved in USAID projects. As a Data Encoder, she utilized the District Health Information Software (DHIS) and contributed to advocacy campaigns for Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) and Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations (SACCO). One of her proudest achievements was revitalizing the local youth center, where she led sessions on functional literacy and facilitated workshops on life skills, entrepreneurship, and effective work habits. Sena’s passion for storytelling and art ultimately led her to become the Communication Officer at CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia. In this role, she combines her love for narrative with her commitment to community development, striving to inspire and connect people through impactful communication. Today, she continues to foster change and inspire her community through youth-led initiatives and development programs.
